About the Program

Program Chairman: Prof. Abraham Carmeli

Its first PhD candidate graduating in 1978, Recanati's Doctoral Program has, over the years, produced prominent scholars in different fields of business and management. Several of our PhD graduates have assumed leadership positions at the School, as deans and heads of programs, departments and institutes. Others represent us in leading business schools and academic institutes around the world, or in senior professional positions in the business community and various professional sectors.

The doctoral program at the Recanati Business School aims to lead academic research and guide high-level academic researchers in the various branches of management to create ground-breaking and applicable knowledge that takes a broad perspective of the entire market while making research advances in a specific area.

The program is intended for outstanding candidates with a proven desire and ability for independent research who are interested in researching and teaching in the various areas of specialization of management.  It enables candidates to acquire a broad base of management knowledge, knowledge of the discipline relevant to the chosen area of specialization, and a deep understanding of the area of specialization, as well as to develop their talents and abilities to carry out significant, independent and original research, and report on its results.

Areas relevant to research in management usually emanate from economics, psychology, sociology, mathematics, statistics and computer sciences.  To reach the level required for scientific research, the candidate is required to specialize in a particular area such as finance, marketing, strategy or technology, or an appropriate combination of these areas.
